On Thursday, 24th of February, we were all getting ready to celebrate The Dragobete, the romanian celebration of love. But just as the horrible news made headlines, a new kind of love started to grow, the one of solidarity between us and our Ukrainian neighbours, who in a matter of hours had to leave their homes, husbands, fathers and brothers behind and run. Our hearts were ripped in thousand pieces when we saw mothers with crying and scared newborns and toddlers crossing borders…
This is when we made the call for your help, and the echo was overwhelming. Parents worldwide united, and packages started to arrive right away!
We were fortunate that one of our colleagues, Nicoleta, was originated from Sighetu Marmatiei, a town with Ukraine borders, a town that became one of the new homes of the refugees that romanians managed to set up to ease their pain… In a matter of hours, Nicoleta managed to reach the board of SOS Bambini Romania Association directly involved in helping the refugees find shelter.
With their help and the help of Nicoleta, we managed to send a first batch of babycarriers and essentials that our ISARA team bought. A new batch is getting ready thanks to your help and generosity.

We received many questions regarding what babycarriers people can send. Well, any type of carrier is better than no carrier, love goes beyond their brand. Of course, structured baby carriers are easier to understand and put on than woven wraps, so baby carriers are preferred.
Unfortunately, we cannot receive any parcels from outside EU, because custom fees will be applied. Moreover, in order for us to receive the packages, we need to go personally and pick them up from the customs office, which is a 2 hours travel, back and forth, and we’re currently struggling to stay as focused as possible on collecting, sorting and sending the carriers exactly where they are most needed.
The only solution we found is that the parcel is sent from a EU country, in order to avoid all the hassle.
For those who want to donate, but don’t have an old baby carrier or are located in a country outside EU, there is also this possibility:
