1. What does V3 found in every product description mean?
ISARA V3 is the third version of the ISARA SSC. So this is where the V3 is coming from. Since the release of ISARA, we have always worked on improving everything so that we can give you the best babywearing experience. We are now at the third version, optimized almost to perfection. Adjustability has been taken to a whole new level, along with the features for comfort and good looks.
2. Is ISARA organic?
All ISARA organic cotton products are GOTS certified! Cotton is not treated with pesticides, insecticides or fertilizers and does not contain heavy metals or formaldehyde, making fabrics safe for babies.
Taking care of our environment is part of our life. Here at ISARA recycling has become a lifestyle. We always encourage our colleagues and friends to recycle everything, from paper to plastic or glass. Also, purchasing things that are not harmful to the environment and their fabrication process does not involve chemicals has always been extremely important to us!
The fabrics that we use are incredibly soft, 100% cotton and 100% organic cotton, with GOTS certificate, the most important certificate for organic fabrics and social responsibility.
3. Is ISARA an ergonomic baby carrier?
The International Hip Dysplasia Institute certifies ISARA baby carriers and stretchy wraps to be ergonomic and hip healthy. ISARA favors the normal growth of the physiological curves of the spine (cervical lordosis, dorsal kyphosis, and lumbar lordosis) and keeps baby's legs bent and spread apart, following the position recommended for the prevention and treatment of hip dysplasia.
4. Is ISARA tested according to Safety Standards?
ISARA soft structured carriers are tested and certified according to ASTM Safety Standards and European Normatives of Safety. Your baby`s safety is extremely important to us, this is why we considered it a must to make sure that everything is safe and in place, from every stitch to every embodied detail.
Large costs and time investments were involved in making sure your baby is safe to be carried in ISARA. And it was all worth it!
We have studied each feature, one at the time. Good support for baby's head, neck, and back, regardless of the age of the baby, was a major factor we wanted to accomplish. The deep seat and the knee to knee coverage were another factor that we have found extremely important for your child`s safe position into the carrier. High-quality buckles were added and the webbing, woven especially for us, does not unravel.
The instructional literature is rich and extremely detailed, doubled by videos that show and explain step by step how to properly adjust ISARA for a safe carry.
In the testing protocol, numerous fall and suffocation hazards were tested, and ISARA passed them all. At ISARA you will not find sharp edges or corners and no detachable parts are potentially edible. The locks are solid and the fabrics are not flammable. The elastic found at the hood cannot be extended to potential suffocation hazard. The leg openings are wide enough for comfortable wear yet not a potential risk for fall hazard.
5. In what country is it made in? Where are the ISARA products made?
ISARA is entirely made in Romania, Europe, with love and dedication, in a friendly, full of positive energy environment.
6. What type of materials are being used?
Using only high-quality materials was our priority. A large amount of investment was made in finding the best quality materials, from fabrics to the buckles and straps. The buckles and velcros are supplied by the world`s most prestigious brands, recognized even in the automotive industry for reliability and endurance. Additional elastic bands were added for more safety, memory foam for your comfort, and the webbing was specially woven for us and does not unravel.

All organic cotton ISARA are GOTS certified. However, the Full Wrap Conversions are made of broken twill woven wrap, while the others are Canvas type with designers’ prints.
13. Why is the Full Wrap Conversion more expensive than the others?
The exceptional quality fabric is a broken twill from Colimacon&Cie. The fabric is GOTS certified 100% pure organic cotton. Spun in Portugal, woven and ecologically dyed in France. This fabric is just perfect for a wrap conversion, thick enough to be supportive, yet thin enough to be soft and cozy.
ISARA Full Wrap Conversion perfectly combines the beauty and comfort of a woven wrap with the ease and support of a SSC.

23. How can I be sure I placed the baby correctly into the carrier?
When you’re wearing a sling or carrier, don’t forget the T.I.C.K.S.
Copyright credits: UK Sling Consortium
TIGHT – slings and carriers should be tight enough to hug your baby close to you as this will be most comfortable for you both. Any slack/loose fabric will allow your baby to slump down in the carrier which can hinder their breathing and pull on your back.
IN VIEW AT ALL TIMES – you should always be able to see your baby’s face by simply glancing down. The fabric of a sling or carrier should not close around them so you have to open it to check on them. In a cradle position, your baby should face upwards not be turned in towards your body.
CLOSE ENOUGH TO KISS – your baby’s head should be as close to your chin as is comfortable. By tipping your head forward you should be able to kiss your baby on the head or forehead.
KEEP CHIN OFF THE CHEST – a baby should never be curled so their chin is forced onto their chest as this can restrict their breathing. Ensure there is always a space of at least a finger width under your baby’s chin.
SUPPORTED BACK – in an upright carry a baby should be held comfortably close to the wearer so their back is supported in its natural position and their tummy and chest are against you. If a sling is too loose they can slump which can partially close their airway. (This can be tested by placing a hand on your baby’s back and pressing gently - they should not uncurl or move closer to you.) A baby in a cradle carry in a pouch or ring sling should be positioned carefully with their bottom in the deepest part so the sling does not fold them in half pressing their chin to their chest
24. Is it possible to breastfeed in ISARA?
Yes, you can easily breastfeed in ISARA, anywhere, anytime, just by manipulating the webbing of the shoulder straps and letting your ISARA loosen a bit when wearing your baby in a front carry or a hip carry.
25. My baby likes to be carried facing forward. What do I do?
ISARA does not provide you the possibility for forward facing, but a good alternative with ergonomic benefits would be the hip carry.
ISARA can be easily adjusted for hip carry. You can watch a step by step guide here: http://bit.ly/adjustISARA
26. How do I know my baby is ready for a back carry?
Each baby is so different at the same age! But you know your child is ready for a back carry when he has a good head and back control.
27. I am afraid to place my baby on my back for a back carry. How can I be sure he is safe before I make the adjustments?
It is normal to be nervous when you first try the back carry. But you have to trust your instincts, you are a wonderful parent! Here is a video that shows you, step by step, how to get ready for back carry:
28. My baby is always crying when I place him into the carrier. What am I doing wrong?
You should not get nervous on your first try, women babywear since early ages and this is something (so) natural! Practice is the key to successful babywearing. Before your first try to wear your baby, make sure he is relaxed and you do not make quick moves that might scare him. Don`t let a small obstacle as a little crying or a fuzziness scare you and make you give up. Your baby will love being close to you, so just have a little patience and let him discover this whole new world
29. How do I know I have adjusted the panel at the right height for a proper head and back support?
The proper height should cover your baby`s back and his neck, especially when the baby does not have full control over his head.
Based on your baby`s needs, the body of the carrier can be adjusted, lowered or raised, on both sides, or asymmetrically. When raised, it provides support for the child`s head, needed especially for small babies. If the baby falls asleep in the carrier, the panel can be extended for more support or privacy.
For toddlers, who might like to stay with their hands out of the carrier, you can adjust both webbings and ensure a lower panel.
30. How do I know I have adjusted the seat to the right dimensions?
As a general rule, the baby carrier should fit from knee to knee, without an overextension of his legs. ISARA will grow along with your child, so you can enlarge the carrier, millimeter by millimeter, just as much as needed. Before adjusting the carrier for the first time you can measure your child s leg opening so that you know how much it is needed.
31. Where should I place the waist belt?
Proper positioning of the waist belt should be parallel to the ground. Avoid placing it on different heights from the back to the front. If something feels uncomfortable, maybe this is the reason.
By placing it correctly, the baby's weight will be perfectly distributed between your shoulders and your hips.
32. I find the chest strap uncomfortable. Am I doing something wrong?
The connection belt is easily removable from the shoulder straps, giving you the possibility to place it wherever it feels comfortable. This way you can get the proper comfortable height for every carrying position.
Also, you can just try a front carry with crossed shoulder straps. Remove the connection belt and get the stylish, neat look you have always wanted.
33. How can I protect the shoulder straps from my baby`s teething habits?
You can prolong the life of your carrier by matching ISARA with teething pads! The shoulder straps are one of the most touched parts of the carrier, also accessible to the child`s teething habits when they tend to chew and bite. When they get dirty (and they will, you`ll see J ), just remove them, give them a little wash and put them back on. J
34. How can I dress my baby when I babywear and it`s cold outside?
When you are getting your baby ready for carrying him in ISARA, take into consideration that the carrier itself and your body are a source of warmth, too. You should not overdress your baby, even if it`s winter. Make sure your baby is not cold and you`re ready to go!
Besides dressing your child properly, ISARA gives you the possibility to match the baby carrier with a stylish babywearing winter cover that will keep your baby warm. Easy to use, stylish to wear.
35. Can I still use ISARA if I am pregnant?
We have met many mothers that used ISARA throughout their pregnancy. It is not harmful to the baby in the womb but yet, we recommend you to consult your doctor if something feels uncomfortable or you are having concerns regarding this matter. Also, if you suffer from dizziness, we do not recommend you to babywear while pregnant.
